    C172 Builders and Flap Indicator

    Hi Guys,
Im puzzling over how best to make and drive this pointer.I see
Simkits do a replica but i dont like their price. I know they use a
Servo, but has anyone seen or have picture of their mechanical
    arrangement.
For that matter how are others doing it?
All suggestions would be gratefully accepted.
    Thanks
    Les

I have not, but it is a good question, as I want a similiar setup to drive my trim indicators.

    Hello

Although it does not specifically cover that type of gauge, I just received my copy of "Building Simulated Aircraft Instrumentation" from Mike's Flight deck http://www.mikesflightdeck.com/ I highly recommend this book. It does talk about using Servo's and shows an example of one.

    Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replys, sorry for the delay. Maybe others havnt got this far or have the real thing.
I found a spiral shaft from a DVD burner that was attached to a stepper. So will use this, along with my own stepper. Did try a servo and pully and cord system but this is a bit bulky.
Still interested to hear from anyone that may have the Simkits arrangement.
Black Widow: I have Mikes first book and it is very good, am going to get the second one sometime soon.
