    CHANGING ROTARY DETENTS

    Hi all,

    Not sure if I should post it here.

    How should I bypass detents on a 3 pole 12 position rotary switch?

    I need to use it for Battery Standby, and Hydraulics on the LDL767, and they are 90 degrees apart.
    My question is what pins would I choose so that I can get the contact change on a 90 deg turn?
    Positions: 1 2 3 4 . 5 6 7 8 . 9 10 11 12.
    Poles. A .B. C.


    Is this at all possible?

    In a 3 pole 4 position switch there is no way to tell apart position number 5 and 9 from position 1. They are exactly the same.
    You are better off with 1 pole 12 position switch where you can use positions that are 90 degrees apart.
    Even better if you get a switch with 90 degrees indexing.
