    USB video cards for instruments?

I am wondering what experience people here have running these USB to VGA dongles that are available for fairly simple outputs such as instruments, CDU (I have a vrinsight cdu ii) and overhead panels. If I undock these from a 3d virtual cockpit they undock as a 2d image right (as in the fact that the usb to vga dongles don't do accelerated directx video won't stop it working)???

If anyone has tried them, do they affect performance of the outside view at all when that is running on a separate gpu which is up to the job?

I use one to drive a cdu screen and it doesn't seem to affect the performance. also got plans to run a wet compass using fsexpand. I bought a small pcs monitor used for car reversing on eBay for about 20euros.

Thanks for the responses - that's great news and opens up some different options for how I arrange my screens.

Re: USB video cards for instruments?

Ooops, sorry for not following protocol, like many other reviewers I have a habit of not reading the manuals...

But I promise to behave in future, glad you sorted it anyway.

    Regards
    Joe.
