    Plexiglass Cubes

    Hi everyone,

I need quite a few plexiglass cubes, approximately 2cm by 2cm.

I need them to make some Korry switches, as per this guide: http://home.hccnet.nl/jwopdenakker/building%20tip.html

I cannot find any on Ebay, or websites such as Conrad etc.

If you can find some for me I would greatly appreciate it.

Please note, there is a link to Plexiglass on the page which is outdated.

    Jack

    Hello Jack,

Do you have a cnc? Look at my site for a example for making them yourself with a master knob and a copy mold.

    Jack,

Search Google for "acrylic rod" and in such a company site search for the square "rods" or cubes.

    E.g. http://www.delviesplastics.com/mm5/m...alls_and_Cubes

    Re: Plexiglass Cubes

As David said below, I just buy 3/4" (20mm) acrylic / plexiglass. There are some offcuts on Ebay sometimes that can be really cheap.

    Re: Plexiglass Cubes

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

    Unfortunately, I don't have a CNC machine.

Also, I do not have the time or equipment to cut the plexiglass that accurately. I have a lathe, a plethora of electrical components, tools, etc, but nothing to cut plexiglass like that.

Thanks Hessel for that link. I may actually purchase from that company if I do not find an alternative.

One thing though, according to the gudie I originally posted, he bought his switches from "Velleman". They don't seem to sell online, so anybody know where I can get some? I've tried, Rapid, Maplin, Ebay... Etc, nobody seems to have the 3mm ones.

    Kind regards,

    Jack

    Re: Plexiglass Cubes

    Jack,

I bought it here: http://www.klinkhamerkunststoffen.nl/ a few years ago.
The square "rods" (don't know the right English word) were square 1 x 2 cm and 1 meter long.
The company can cut them in cubes of 2 x 2 x 2 cm.
So, if you order them here and add to the message: The same as Hessel Oosten they will sure know it.....

    Re: Plexiglass Cubes

    Hi Hessel,

    Thanks for the link there.

Does this company have an English version of their page? I can't quite understand the Dutch, sorry. Unfortunately as a youngster they gave us an option of French/German/Spanish. I took German, but they never offered us Dutch =P.

    Thanks,

    Jack

    Re: Plexiglass Cubes

    Hi Hessel,

If you could get hold of one of these Plexiglass Bars from this company, I would gladly purchase them from you.

Just a bar that is 2cmX2cm (just like the tutorial) would do. Please tell me if you are able to obtain one. I will of course pay for shipping costs - Everything.

I should be able to obtain the LEDs and push-buttons myself. It is no problem if you cannot, I would just greatly appreciate it.

    Feel free to PM me.

    Regards,

    Jack
