Hey guys, where do most of you get your 5 volts from and how do you connect to it? From the computers power supply?

    Cheers

Re: 5 volts for backlighting etc?

    hello drewsta......
you can buy computer power supply's real cheap. i use a 'standalone' PSU for both my 5v & 12v.
when you look at it, there are a myriad of wires coming out.
to start it just connect the green wire to any black and to stop it, simply disconnect them ( i use a switch).
any red/black combination is going to give you 5v and any yellow/black combination is going to give you 12v.
    way to go
    good luck .....

Re: 5 volts for backlighting etc?

Hey Ian thanks for that mate! Iis there a board or something that i can connect the 5 volts to, then connect anything i need to give power to that board etcz? The same with 12 volts? Also can't you just turn it on and off with the little switch on the psu itself?

    Thanks again
