    FSnavigator, FScommander and alternatives ????

    Hi,

I am using FSnavigator with FS9 and PMDG 737-800 addon (not PM) for almost two years now, and I am happy with this setup.

I like FSnavigator because the maps are moving and it is connected to the VATSIM server so I can see the online traffic, together with the online ATC, its fun to know what is, even virtualy, going on around you. I do not care about flight plans, because I like using the CDU like real pilots do

What I do not like in FSnavigator is the fact that you have to click or press a button (shortcut) to open it, then click connect to join the net, and then click again to view the map. Too many clicks. Other than that it satisfies 2 of my 3 needs.

The aim is to minimise clicks here, so I am searching for alternatives where moving maps, online VATSIM & IVAO traffic, and less clicks, even better auto startup, is very important.

I read FScommander is an alternative. Can you tell me if my above needs will be satisfied with FSC ? Is there any other alternative ? Eventhough I tried experimenting with FSnavigator, is there anyway for FSnavigator to autostart with FS in an online mode ?

    Thanks

    Nick

I use FSC. Has regular updates (currently 8.6), many setting but not too complicated. Use the FSC both flight plan creation as well as a Moving Map. A major update to version 9 will come that will bring some improvements. Whether this update is also free but is still not fixed. Would wait maybe a little.

But the current version is highly recommended. To the online mode, I can not comment because I have only fly offline. But so does the corresponding menu in the FSC

    I use fs9/pmdg and fsc.
You have the option of viewing ivao or vatsim traffic and they display as little planes within 40nm.
You should be able to download free on a 30min time basis.
A very good investment i highly reccomend fsc

    regards
