    Question Simkits Gauges

    Hi all,

I wonder if any of you are using Simkits Gauges for the O/H panel (737). I have four of these attached to a hub in the O/H (powered) with a 5 metre cable leading to the PC.

My problem is intermittent, the gauges don't always initialise when I start FS9. There doesn't seem to be any logic to which ones will work and which don't.

Could it be the length of the USB cable?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Joe.

    Hey Joe,

Are you starting FS9 first or the gauges TRC program from Simkit? Try FS9 first and then the gauges; try it the opposite way as well and see if it makes any difference. As far as cable length there is some limitation to USB and USB extensions, but you're using a hub, so that helps.

I had a problem with a cable before and it caused the same issue; I replaced the cable and no more problems. Although, that might not resolve it for you...

    Re: Simkits Gauges

    Thanks John,

I have tried using a different startup sequence and a new USB cable but although the gauges might initially register, I get the familiar USB "bing bong" as though they had been unplugged. It's very frustrating because I never know which are working and which are not... until they don't move of course.

    Cheers
    Joe.
