    CRT Projectors

    Hi all
I have been looking for a cheap solution for my cockpit visuals and I don't know if I have done the right thing but I have brought a Sony VPH-1271Q CRT projector on auction for $62.00 Dollars. Can they be used with graphics cards on home computers??

    Cheers

    Came out in 1990.....wow!

Seems to have an RGB input besides the S-Video one, though you will need a VGA to Component adapter. Are all the CRT tubes good, no burn in? If not you'll be looking at some $$$ to fix it.

    Hi jskibo
The projector does have a fault. The seller said the it has been working fine until the picture just started to roll and error code 8 came up. I guess for $62 you get what you pay for. I have an asus gforce 7600 silent 512 meg pci-e card so I have no idea if I can use the crt projector through it??

    Re: CRT Projectors

You'll need one of these http://www.curtpalme.com/HDFury.shtm with the green cable option (vga to 5 BNC)

    (d) "08" - V STOP
V deflection stops because of failure on DC board or other boards (DA or DB, for example):
Failure may exist in damaged Vout ICs (IC4, IC6, IC on DC board, etc.
Overload to +- 15V lines on DC board: Failure may exist in damaged sub-deflection circuit on DC board, or in over correction to registration(*1).

"In general, when we hear of a situation like yours, we recommend removing as many boards as possible (1 at a time, of course) and cleaning the contacts with DeOxit or some other contact cleaner of your choice.

Also, firmly press any socketed chips that you can find into their sockets. They can be removed and cleaned as well, but you need the correct tool to do this.

Then make sure the boards are snugly reseated when you put them back in.

This clears up those errors most of the time."

    Re: CRT Projectors

This type of cable if you are using the VGA out http://www.cablesnmor.com/vga-to-5-bnc-cable.html

This if you're using the DVI out http://www.computercablestore.com/DV..._catID618.aspx

Either of these should work, only reason to use an HD Fury type is if you're passing HDCP material (Movies).

    Re: CRT Projectors

    Thanks jskibo
I thought when I first went to the web site I was up for the HDfury. The other cables are much cheaper, thanks for that.
I don't plan to use it for movies, just my helicopter sim I am working on

    Cheers
