    New Machine!!

    Finished building my new CNC machine today. It will cut an area of about 24" on the 'x' and 11." on the 'y'. The 'z' will pass over a 2.75" piece of material. The materials used in construction are PVC, MDF, and HDPE. You will see in the pictures that I have used HDPE bushing on the main lower rails, and the Y axis rails. I got rid of the Dremel tool in favor of the Proxxon unit. The Proxxon unit is extremely quiet and has no brushes to wear out. The cost of this unit for just the frame, rods, threaded rod and other materials is under $150.00. This is without any electronics at all. You can see it is dirty, I have done some tests with it. It cuts as near perfect a circle as I could ask it to, close enough for government work. Any questions, just holler. I may think about building these for others, labor is the killer. It takes about 2 days to make one of these from the beginning to the end.
