    SMPS for Power Source

    Dear All

So far I have been using various power adaptors for backlighting and other DC power requirements for my cockpit.

Now I wish to use the SMPS. Once I connect the SMPS to power source I notice the SMPS doesnt start running. Is there anything I need to do? How do I test ?

    Any comments would be great

    Regards

    Re: SMPS for Power Source

    hi vybhav.......
i wasn't sure what you meant by SMPS, but all has now been revealed, it's an ATX computer power supply
ok, only one of the multitude of wires coming out of the PSU will be green.
if the power supply unit is connected to the a.c. supply, by connecting the green wire to any black wire, will
start the power supply running. breaking the connection will stop the power supply.
the black wires are all ground. the red wires are all 5vdc and the yellow wires are all 12vdc.
    hope that helps someone out.
    regards from wales ..... ian
