Re: 2d panning with track ir

Yes that is the horrible I was describing. Is there any way to correct that? if not, how can I remove it? Thanks again for all your time and help. By the way here is a program you might find useful. It eliminates dragging the views after you load a flight. You mentioned in your first post that you "haven't found a way around that yet."

    http://www.casawave.fr/upload/fsx/Panel_Position.zip

    - Unzip it in a folder
    - Open Fsx in windowed mode
    - Open the panels you need, undocked them, and place/resize them the way you want.
    - Launch "Panel Store.exe" and wait a few (2 to 5 secondes)

Move, resize the panels or load/create a flight.

    - Open the panels you need (undocked)
    - Launch "Panel Restore.exe"

The size and the positions of your panels will be recalled.

    More details :
When you execute "Panel Store.exe", it scans all the open windows, keep only the panels, and store their name, size and position in a .ini file. The .ini file name should be the aircraft name but I noticed it could be different with some addons.

When you execute "Panel Restore.exe", it search the aircraft name, scan for the .ini file that match and move/resize the panels if they are opened and undocked (otherwise the software can't do anything).

When you launch "Panel Store.exe", and if a corresponding .ini file is already created, it will delete it and create a new one.

    Tips :
Create a shortcut for the two .exe, and assign a free keyboard shortcut.
For example : Ctrl+Alt+F11 to save and Ctrl+Alt+F12 to restore.

I don't know of a way to keep the views from doing that, it's just a consequense of the order that the rotations are performed. I seem to remember seeing a plugin that would keep the windows aligned for use with WidevieW, but I can't find it anywhere.

I don't have TrackIR, but a partial imperfect workaround may be to configure it to function only in yaw and position, but not in pitch or roll.

Is there a way to remove the VC from the 3D view? I would like the my top three screens to be three aircraft windows. Your method for lining up the 3D horizons worked perfect but I'd like to get rid of the cockpit. I was able to remove the 2D cockpit but I can't pan in 2D. Thanks.

You could comment out the interior model line in the model.cfg file for your selected aircraft, but then you'll have no panel in your bottom screen.

If you'd be happy with the 2-d panel on the bottom screen, just set that window to the 2-d cockpit, shrink the associated outside view (I'd also suggest zooming all the way in to minimize the polygon load from that window) and hide it behind the 2-d panel. That's what I did in the 360° view screenshot.
