    SoCal Checking in

Good morning form Costa Mesa, California.

I just started gathering the parts for a 737 build (my first attempt). So far I have made the pedestal, now I need to stuff if with radios (still trying to decided whether to build them or buy the USB ones). I ordered my Revolution Simproducts throttle before the price hike, and now I am working on getting my visuals set up. I purchased three Optoma GT720 short throw WXGA projectors and am working on building a 22 ft screen (7ft radius wrap around) Going to run Nthusim software for that and hope to have a test run by the weekend.

I have CPFlight MCP coming in from the Netherlands (used) so someday that will get here as well.....

    Hi jskibo,

    welcome to the site!
Seems like a very good start from what you already gathered. We all here like pictures of the various builds, so we would be pleased to have some inspirations from yours, please. Also, please keep us updated on your visual setup, esp. the usefulness of your optoma projectors.

    Thanks for sharing
    and greets

    Chris

    Re: SoCal Checking in

Thanks all. Pictures coming soon. Two of the three projectors have arrived. Was hoping to build a temp screen this weekend, but I may have to mount the kids projectors first (they are screaming for them). That was my way of buying the space I needed in the garage for the sim (used Projectors for their games in their rooms)

I found some other used gear that I am trying to buy, but the guy is in Serbia (paypal won't work there), so don't really know how to acquire it without a bank transfer. Also looking at the FDS gear.

You would think there would be more of us here in SoCal......
