    C172 Parking Brake Length

Anyone out there have a good idea of the distance needed to pull out the parking brake to lock it on a 172?

    Re: C172 Parking Brake Length

    Hi, just measured it up
in metric 135 mm full in full out
11 detents in between spaces 7 mm start at 60mm last detent 132mm
remember handle travel depends on wear and tear of the brake disks.
    hope it helps

    Kermit,

If you have access to a real one, could you get me the measurements on the handle? Also, it appears that it rotates 90 deg clockwise when engaged. Is that true in your experience?

    Re: C172 Parking Brake Length

Hi, That`s correct when you turn the handle after pulling 90 deg it will lock on the detents,
to release you have to turn first then push in(normally the brakeunit itself will pull the parking-brakehandle in)
    measurements Handle
total lenght 110mm (90mm where your fingers will grip)
    17mm wide
    rodinsert 25mm
    rodlength incl handle 280mm
