    Old: Changing switch polarity in the software

    I have an autopilot disconnect switch on my MCP that is ON when in the engaged possition and OFF when in the disengaged possition. This means that the switch on the level-D panel is the opposite to what the real switch says.

    This is because of the wiring on the actual switch but I want to avoid swapping the terminals around as they are very hard to reach unless a take the thing apart.

    Is there a way to take in the value of the switch (say ON) and pass OFF to the panel so that it thinks that it is is OFF, then take the switch when it is OFF and make the panel think it is ON. Swapping the output in the software rather than hardware?

    Yes, you can change that in the SIOC script.

    Look for the line:

    Code:
    Var 293 Static name DisEngBar0 Link IOCARD_SW Input 75 Type I
    And change that line into this piece of code (with your input number of course):

    Code:
    Var 9800 Link IOCARD_SW Input 75 Type I
    {
      IF v9800 = 1
      {
        v293 = 0
      }
      ELSE
      {
        v293 = 1
      }

    }

    Var 293 Static
