How to handle external views in FS9 ?
Hi,
Need your experience in this.
I fly 737-700 PMDG. I am trying to have as much as possible a wider external view. 180 degrees if possible
I tried to decrease the zoom (30 % was the minimum I could get) in the virtual cockpit view. That gave me a wide external view but I would like more.
Is that possible ?
Thanks
Nick
PS. Is there any key (shortcut) in VC view to get back to the center (looking straight forward), because when by mistake you move the cursor, it is difficult to get back to the looking forward view again.

Re: How to handle external views in FS9 ?
That is all you can get with one view. FS presents the view as a single flat image, not an image projected onto a cylinder centred on the pilot's head. If you want really wide views, you will either have to use WideView (payware) running through multiple PCs onto multiple screens, or use more than one FS view positioned side by side. Nic D' in Tasmania has 5 FS views side by side on the 3 screens (or 3 projectors in his case) driven by the Matrox TH2GO.

Thanks Bryn,
I know about wideview, but I was wondering if there is any other way through FS9 to do that.
I guest not...
Thanks again,
Nick

Re: How to handle external views in FS9 ?
Microsoft Flight Simulator began life as a set of articles on computer graphics. It reflects the maturation of the OpenSceneGraph port. The only thing FSX doesn't have is the view option like FS9 did, so it is a bit harder getting views adjusted to the right zoom and angles.
