    Re: MIP qestion

Thanks guys for all the info
i understand 6mm thikness the bad thing is that i live on a greek island
and there are no laser cutters so i can go for PVC or aluminum
as shown in my photos i made the bace of stell and i have decided to go with wood
as there is no one here that can do that kind of work
i can find lost of PVC and plexiglass ,aluminoume but no cnc or lazer cuter here
only if i go to athens but it is far away
so i found a woodmaker here that will like to help out but we only have 4mm 8mm
plywood sheets no mdf avalibel so that is upsetting
i would really like PVC lacer cut

i would keep in mind about the summer heat here would 6mm bend even if i prime and paint with a good coloure??

as for my mip bace i have made i am really thinking of re starting with wood
because as i continue to build i see that i have made mistaks
and it is too big so i am thinking of going with wood
thanks to every one for the help
    regards spiro

My question is; if you are cutting PVC without a 'machine' (like the majority of us builders) then how easy is pvc to cut with the basic home tools like a jigsaw etc, I remember acrylic was a delicate substance to cut and used a coping saw so that I could control the pressure and the cut.

I think that anything can be cut with a jigsaw, just depends on the speed at which you cut and the cutting blade that you use!

    Re: MIP qestion

    Ok Guys
hers another one of those weard qestions of mine
i finally getting the mip cut out of 6mm ply wood it mite be ready tommoro
but here is what i am trying to think the mip is just a cover witch will cover the monitors
BUT know that i am building my gear lever thanks to Buddym and is helpfull tutorial
sence the 6mm plywood is just to cover up and not hold any weight, what do for the bace of gear lever and auto brakes switches????

what i mean and believe is that first on the mip STUCKTURE we get owr monitos set up and gear lever, auto brake switches nice and stedy and then the 6mm plywood mip just covers all of that

what i need is ideas for how to get gearlever and brake switches in place and stedy before i cover them up
    thanks spiro

    Re: MIP qestion

spiro, i will try to send you a few photos of my MIP. My monitors are mounted on plywood panels that are installed vertically. The monitors are mounted using 4 screws in the holes that are used to wall mount them. Since the plywood panel goes across the entire frame of each MIP section, I used the angle brackets to screw the gear lever to the plywood panel.

    Re: MIP qestion

    Thanks Buddym
photos would help alot, i was thinking of putting a pice of ply wood across the hole mip too but if so the monitors would be
about 2 cm fether out then the ply wood so when placing the mip cover panels there will be a big gap for the gear lever and swithches
    thats were i get stuck
what i am aming to do is get monitors gearlever brake switches across all the mip in one straight line for no gaps when the covers get placed on
do you understand what i am trinig to explane
i might not be explaining right bear with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    regards spiro
