    Some circular projection questions

I have a few questions about the circular projection systems some of you built.

    1. Does the view keep good perspective from both pilot and copilot seat?
    2. How much is the projector bending-blending software going for?
    3. How much of a hassle is it to get 3 projectors and software lined up similar to the setup at the link below?

I already have 1 projector and thought id buy a couple more and give it a try, its only a cheap
2200 lumen 800x600, so i probly wont get the full 180 deg veiw i wanted.

Also i noticed 3D projectors are fairly cheap, do you think it will be possible soon to have triple 3D circular projection?

Here's the link, Id like to build something similar.

    Thanks

    Re: Some circular projection questions

I suppose I can answer since that was my set-up

    1. The parallax problem will haunt most projection set-ups.
The bigger and further the screen form your eye point, the better it becomes.

    2. NThusim Plus (supports TH2Go) is on a promotional offer of US$399.

    3. Setting up the image takes a little practice, but its easy and fun. (addictive)

I cant comment on the 3D projectors, wont you need to wear 3D glasses? Not sure If i'd wear them in a cockpit

Im using 3 X WXGA projectors in that set-up...

    Re: Some circular projection questions

    And FWIW, my experiences...

    1. My curved screen is about 8ft in front of me and about 25ft wide. I've never seen the parallax problem before, so don't know what it looks like, but if I have it, you couldn't tell. Flying looks normal from either seat. Member Clive has also recently set his double projection visual system up, about 6-7ft in front of the eyepoint and I flew that last weekend. He also has no parallax problem (how can I create the effect to see what it looks like)?

    2. Or 450AUD or 270GBP or 300EUR. But this home version does not have edge blending. You'll need to use the good old fashioned edge-butting method. The 'full' version of Sol7 with edge blending is around 4000AUD.

    3. Setting up 3 projectors? On the floor, dead easy. On the ceiling, a bit more of a chew. Gravity does it's best to get in the way! Sol7 is possibly one of the easiest programs you'll ever use.

    Sean

    EDIT: BTW, nice setup Nat.

    Re: Some circular projection questions

Thanks for your answers, ive decided for now to go with a single 3d projector and track ir.
If everything goes well i might add 2 more 3d projectors in the future and build the curved screen.
