I have ten thumbs too. Sounds like you are a good friend and they will definitely owe you a frosty beverage.
Glad it will help,

Re: Cessna 172 1:1 Panel Drawing
Been searching to find what thickness you guys use for your instrument panel, but have not found anything. Does 12mm (1/2") mdf do the trick, or do you use thicker?

Re: Cessna 172 1:1 Panel Drawing
I used 3/4" mdf, but should have gone lighter.

Re: Cessna 172 1:1 Panel Drawing
I am using the actual instrument panel frame and cover trim out of a 172N. The frame is 1/16" thick.

Acrylic sheet definitely must be reinforced or framed.

Re: Cessna 172 1:1 Panel Drawing
I've used 6mm mdf for both incarnations of my sim. It's currently in bits in my new garage and starting to warp in the slight damp air. I'd probably recommend avoiding MDF for this reason if there is a slight chance of more than normal humidity!
Louie, I'd like to chat about some of your components, is PM ok?
