I remember when I took my first monitor apart... they were around $350 at the time. Taking a perfectly good monitor and tearing it down, knowing all warranty void, scary right?

Anyway I built a plastic support for the lose parts. Put shrink tubing around small parts.

You just have to watch that you dont touch the inverter board ( Board on the right ) with it powered on as this generates high voltage for the display illumination.

What I would do is put a strip of electrical tape under the loose pcb's as if this touches the metal casing in anyway; could short the circuit and blow anything connected to it. Try to secure as much as you can so that pcb's etc dont move about, puting electrical tape over conductive areas will prevent anything from blowing. Try not to move anything too far out of its origional position as you dont want to tare apart any harnesses or cables such as the wafer thin flat cables. Try to setup the LCD and its components in a similar position as to if it was housed in the origional casing which will ensure a hassle free installation to your MIP.

    Good luck.
