    Mycockpit.org SteveE 737 Feb Pics

    Hi Folks,
Haven't done an update in a while although some of you may have been reading my other half (flightsimbarbie)'s blogs which have been following the escapades of building a home 737..

Recent things that have been completed, Have got theopencockpits FMC/CDU working- many thanks to Michael Delvos for allowing me to be one of the beta testers and producing such a great piece of software. Also, nearly finished making some (budget) dual yokes. They are still in the testing phase and i'll be working on some improvements and posting some build pics soon- but thanks to Dodiano for supplying the control wheels and Daveanne/Westozy and IanS for all the ideas they have published which helped no end in designing my controls (no space under the floor so have had to make things compact)

Other recent additions are 3x wireless keyboards with built in trackpads that make operating the sim much easier, an extra screen to show the PMDG displays and FS menus and some work to the ceiling panels /escape rope panels etc.

I've also added some lightweight headsets that can be worn to communicate between the cap/FO and really added some realism when the engine sounds (new CFM ones from AVSIM)are turned up and we can still talk to each other..

Also fitted the captains tiller (from simparts) last week- thanks for the tutorial Ian and have enjoyed just taxying around a few airports!

Anyway, next Jobs are to assemble the Fire panel and handles that are coming from manalo at Hispapanels (Cheers for the info on those SteveA), Going to try and move the screen closer to the front windows and mod the projector mount and finally some more work on the dual yokes to strengthen them a bit and lower them slightly.

Anyway, thanks everyone for all the inspiration and advice!
    cheers
    Steve

Looks great Steve, these are my favourite type of posts. Great to see the progress and i always love the night flights Like the monitor for that extended perhipheral view and also a great little crew bathroom there.

Great progress Steve, I love the Yokes and look forward to your build pics for them, and hopefully a bit of a tutorial too.
I'm correct to think you use fs9, Is the side window view just default undocked left, I want to try a few things myself. It looks like a lot of fun having a co-pilot. Sometimes gets lonely on yer own and a bit busy lol. Any chance of some more pics of the pedestal.

    Re: SteveE 737 Feb Pics

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for the nice comments- the side view is the first bit of the triplehead with the centre on the projector and the right window on the last output.- don't see why you couldnt use an undocked window for that though. Im working on some schematics for how the sim goes together so I'll post them when im done. pedestal pics- no problem, looks pretty much the same as yours as it goes! - Soon as I get some bits and tweaks finished on the yokes (few mods with a hacksaw) i'll post some pics and info
    cheers
    Steve

Also, Thanks to everyone else for saying nice things about my cockpit!!

    Re: SteveE 737 Feb Pics

Having had a play in Steve's masterpiece I can say it is fantastic - great immersion factor too!
Unfortunately I crashed it - then again I did that in Ian's too... maybe I need to get more practice!

If you get the chance of a visit, do it!
    Cheers
    Mike
