    A320 Glareshield, FSX, Opencockpits HELP!!!

    Hello!!!
I'm new in this world of aviation. I want to build a A320 Homecockpit and I want to start with the Glareshield Panel.
I have done some investigation but I find some problems, this are some of them:

    1) FSX doesn't have the Airbus A320, so I need a addon airplane. I don't know which addon airplane to use??
    2) Opencockpits IOCards can be program with SIOC and Peter Dowson offsets. My second problem I cann't find pilot and copilot EFIS offsets for FSUIPC?? I post this on Peter Dowson forum
    PHP Code:
    http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=79324&p=481944&hilit=L%3A+var#p481944
. So I have new questions:
2.1 FSUIPC Offsets works just with default FSX???
2.2 If I used an ADDON airplane (like Wilco Airbus Series 1 of iFTB A320), there Is a way to communicate the airplane functions with Opencockpits IOCards??
2.3 I read that I can use L:var program with Lua of change the Peter Offsets, Does someone know how to make that??

I hope somebody could help me, I'm kind of stuck with this questions.

    Thanks!!!
    Regards

    Luis

Re: A320 Glareshield, FSX, Opencockpits HELP!!!

    Hi Luis!

Welcome to this crazy world you have entered I've recently started building an a320 cockpit myself so hopefully I can see things from your point of view as it were.

    1) Lots of debate about which airbus add-on is best. Personally, I've settled with the Wilco one as it does it's job. You won't find an a320 add-on with advanced features as none have actually been produced yet

    2) FSUIPC offsets will work with add-on aircraft in some places and not in others. Problems can arise when the manufactures of add-on aircraft don't 'communicate fully' with FSUIPC so you can't use all the offsets. From tinkering around though I've found that the main ones work such as extracting altitude, speed autopilot data for LCD displays. All other things such as clicking buttons e.t.c can be done with offsets if available. If not, there are ways around it such as using mouse macros and key commands

    Regards,
    Marcus

    Hello Marcus!
    Thanks for your quick reply!

I agree with you, I bought the Wilco Series 1 and has amazing features.
Hopefully next week I will have more time the jump in the A320 and check which Offset work on the Wilco A320.
All other things such as clicking buttons e.t.c can be done with offsets if available. If not, there are ways around it such as using mouse macros and key commands
I going to check out mouse macros (amazing tool), and try to comunicate the macro with the IOCards from Opencockpits using SIOC.

    Regards
    Luis

    Hi Guys

It's brilliant to see more and more A320 cockpit builders. Warmly welcome on board and have a fast progress in building.

Little bit from me regarding GlareShield Wilco A320.
From some time I am building A320 cockpit as well. And from day one I am with WILCO as this is perfect product from my point of view, cheap and enough complicated for beginner like me.
After building some shell elements, I have started with I/O project which together with my software can drive all Glare Shield elements - that was my goal.
Unfortunatelly just after few attempts I couldn't find easy way to get and set informations from WILCO A320. But after many weeks experiments, using some tricks and logic in my software I came to stage, where almost all the Glare controls are working fine. You can see project working
Now I am finishing building my complete glare section, ready panles you can find on my website.
    http://www.a320-project.skalarki.co.uk
I will be happy to help with any A320 related building problems.
Latest news: Shortly will be available software called FSUIPC Exporter written by Eric Marciano with my as a beta tester cooperation. This software will give access to WILCO A320 offests.
