    Intercom for cockpit

    Hi,

I am using a two rw GA headsets for my sim. The 2 pins connect via USB using the fxsounds box. I fly online and it is very realistic. Both people can hear the atc by the use of roger wilco and respond but is there anyway for both people to talk to each other internally? ideally this would be a software solution. What are you using?

Thanks guys- it will increase the realism no end!

If you have more than one computer in your setup, you could use Skype.

It might be necessary to use a simple sound mixer to get the sound from different sources into the second headset.

    Hans

Wow, that's a great idea. I've been thinking how to do this and it never entered my mind to use skype. Thanks Hans i'll test that one out.

    Re: Intercom for cockpit

Guys, Just purchase a Real World GA Intercom, 4 or 2 place unit from ebay, the output/Input on the portable ones is simply the same as a headset itself with Jacks, as long as you have interfaced to your sound card correctly you are in business.

I found to get mine working with Roger Wilco/Sound Card I had to supply the phantom Power to the intercomm Input/Output, it was expecting that to be there.

I purchased a TELEX PC4 four place intercom, this is a dash mounted unit, 4 Headset capability & a music input for long flights, sounds/feels just like your in a real aircraft. A circuit diagram on the intercom would also be a good idea to assist in the wiring, I have one for the PC-4 if needed.

If you got the headsets working you will get the intercomm working.

    Cheers Glenn.

    Hi Glenn,

the diagram would be nice for me. I'm also trying to buy such a device.

I have only a hard copy of the manual, It is not the best quality but should be OK.
