    Boeing rudder pedal conversion

I just won an auction off of ebay for a boeing 727 rudder pedal ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT ), it's just the pedal with out linkages and with out right side pedal, just one pedal of one set (just for clarification,) and was wondering something. I also have a pair of Saitek rudder pedals.
Has any one adapted the rudder pedals for use on the Saitek pedals or can something be designed and made? If some one can come up with ideas on how to do this, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

My pedal finally came in the mail. If anyone is interested I can make a drawing (on paper with pen) with dimensions so others can make their own if needed. It's a BIG pedal. Let me know if you're interested.

Nice... Just out of curiosity... do you need a left pedal? I have a left I won't be using. Willing to give you a great deal.

I have made some drawings in sketchup. You find the 3D model by searching "737 pedal" in sketchup warehouse.

I made it just by looking at pics on the web + getting the measurements from a 727, but it shouldnt be to far away from the real deal. I planed to build these myself, but ended up buying them since I got a good deal.

Hmmm... I see now that I have made the smallest holes in the footplate at the wrong end... well well...

Yeah, I could use a left pedal.

Anyone have ideas how to convert them? I'm scratching my head trying to figure it out.

    Re: Boeing rudder pedal conversion

I'm thinking about something like this:

I have actually made a later version of these drawings including a parallel rod to secure that the pedals always stay the same angle, but I don't have that drawing right here.
I have the first base halfway finish, but summer got me and it will take 6-7 weeks before I get the time to continue this work.

I was thinking of somehow placing a micro switch in there for brakes on each pedal, perhaps on the bar connecting the gear and pedal. Someone know of a source for the beveled gears as shown in the drawings?

    Re: Boeing rudder pedal conversion

    Hi everybody,

has anybody got measures on "how high above the floor" (the basis of the pedals from the floor, the hight of the interconnectors pedals/tubings from the floor) and "how far apart" the pedals (between Capt & FO) are ?

I found Gwyn's great Project 777 drawings in the download section but if anyone has additional measures, I'd be happy if you could post them.

    Thanks & regards,
    Florian
