    Edir FSX CFG file

    Hi,
newbie question. I am editing the FSX cfg file to try a few tweaks and notice I have two files, one is cfg txt file and the other just cfg.
I am editing the txt file in wordpad and notice the cfg file does not change. Do I dump one file ie. dump the cfg file and edit the txt file and assume FSX rewrites the cfg file?
Can anyone confirm this as correct please. I don't seem to remember a txt cfg file in FS (but I may be mistaken as its a while ago now).
    Thank you

    David

    Re: Edir FSX CFG file

FSX will completely ignore the .txt file. It is there because Wordpad probably saved it in that format by default..... delete it.

Don't use Wordpad, use Notepad instead. Open the fsx.cfg in Notepad, make your changes and select Save As, ....then in the prompt box change the dropdown list "Save as type" to All Files (*.*), ...... then select fsx.cfg OR type it into the File names textfield and then hit Save. It should prompt you about overwriting.
