Looking for good replicas of the 737 Honeywell MCP knobs

    Hi,

since I am building an earlier NG production cockpit (pre 2003), I would like to integrate a Honeywell (formerly Sperry) MCP, which was used during this time. This is very well reproduced by the CPflight EL MCP version. However, the knobs are not looking very similar to the original, especially the Speed and the Heading knobs are looking quite different, so I am planning to exchange them.
Does anybody know some provider of good replicas of these knobs. The usual suspects (FDS, Sismo, etc.) have nothing to offer in this area.
Probably they can also be made with a CNC or even a conventional lathe, but I have not access to either one. And one will need exact CAD drawings for this anyway, I assume.
Any hints and/or tips are highly appreciated.

    Best regards,
    Michael

    Hi,

Simparts has a couple of the MCP knobs, not sure if they are the ones you are after though...

Re: Looking for good replicas of the 737 Honeywell MCP knobs

    Hi Mike,

I should also have listed Simparts because they have a great selection of knobs, but, as with most suppliers, they only offer the knobs for the new Rockwell Collins MCPs. You can see the ones I mean on this picture at airliners.net. The speed knob is formed like a pointy hat and the heading knob has a square bank angle selector.

But thanks a lot for the quick reply anyway.

    Cheers,
    Michael
