Sometimes it works other times it does not. I hate critical soft/hardware configurations.
The February 2009 release of the sotware and USB driver even crashes my OS, blue screen... memory dump etc.

No, I think it is the serial/USB driver, for the FTDI chipset in the devices. On my Win7 64-bit system the driver supplied by VRInsight works, provided the PC boots up, but often causes a Blue Screen during boot-up. I've uninstalled it for the time being. There are more recent drivers on

    http://www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm

and I've downloaded a selection but I've not had time yet to work out which ones should be used - VCP or D2XX. I'll not be looking till next week now.

I have written to VRInsight about this, but I've not heard back from them yet.

    Regards

    Pete

Re: Windows 7 and FS Hardware Issues Help

Thank you for your quick replay Pete.
I tried the last available driver/software Oct-2009 with not not the wanted results in Win7 (no more blue screens btw).
The software/driver reacts instable on my system wich btw is just plain Win7.. all updates, FSX_Gold edition, FS_Global_2008, Ultimate Terrain-X_Europe, registered copy of FSUIPC and WideFS, registered copy WideView, Saitek drivers and software, Matrox TH2G software/driver and of course VRInsight ProPit SerialFP2... nothing more, nothing less.

My current WideVieuw setup works fine to me.......

    Kindest regards and Merry Xmas,
    Nico

Re: Windows 7 and FS Hardware Issues Help

    Hi,
when printing a flight plan my windows 7 crashes when SFX is running.
It is a Samsung 315 laser printer.
The system is a high spec one from Alpine and is only 3 months old and has bags of everything in terms of power etc.
    Any ideas welcome please.

    Regards

    David

Re: Windows 7 and FS Hardware Issues Help

Here is an update about the problems I had with the Saitek hardware as switch and radio panels.
It seems not to be a Win7 issue but a glitch in the new (Win7 ready) software from Saitek.
The Saitek installer adds a line in the FSX.cfg
At "TRHUSTED SOFTWARE" a double line is added !! It calls on FSX to execute the Saitek-panel-installer.exe
However the Saitek installer did the same for the FS9-panel-installer, so FSX tries to execute both panel installers !!!

    Manufacture/Item:
    Saitek/ switch, radio and Autopilot

    Problem:
Panels are interfering with one another if more (radio) panels are used

    Resolution (Fixed, Unresolved, Unfixable):
    Fixed

    Recommendation:
Delete a line in the FSX.cfg
    >> C:\Program Files (x86)\Saitek\Pro Flight Panels\SaiPanelsFS9.exe.ucwkhcuheklceboatbniubcurtnaqilulbqnwool=1 <<

Sorry mr Gates.... not your fault this time
