    Rotary encoders for Leo's BU0836X

    Hi all

I want to use a rotary encoder for my instrument panel to adjust VOR, altimeter etc and came across this http://newzealand.rs-online.com/web/...duct&R=6234158 low profile encoder and wanting to know if it will work on Leo's BU0836X board before I order one

    Regards

    Rhys

Re: Rotary encoders for Leo's BU0836X

    hi rhys.......
i just had a browse thru the datasheet and i don't see any reason why this encoder will not work. the output wave pattern suggests that you use type 1:1 as the encoder type (but i may be wrong).
however, the output will be seen by the bu0836x.......
    hope that helps you out....
have a great day and good luck...... ian

Re: Rotary encoders for Leo's BU0836X

    Hello

    Why not use :

    Rotary encoder CTS 288 model 288T232R161A2 (datasheet) : £2.49
    16 detents per revolution

    or

    Rotary encoder CTS288 model 288V232R161B2 (datasheet) : £3.99
    integrated momentary push switch
    16 detents per revolution

from Leo Bodnar : http://www.leobodnar.com/products/BU0836X/ scroll down a little

I bought them and they work fine with BU0836X

Re: Rotary encoders for Leo's BU0836X

    Thanks for the reply's Guys
The price of Leo's is certainly a lot cheaper than the one I am looking at which was going to cost me $45.00 just for one

Bjarne, what is the height of the encoder excluding the shaft

    Regards

    Rhys

Re: Rotary encoders for Leo's BU0836X

Hi all, for the level d 767 efis control and possibly the buo836x, would the same Leo Bodnar rotory encoders work best for that? Or do they need to be the switch type rotory?

    Thanks
    Drewsta

"Bjarne, what is the height of the encoder excluding the shaft"

This is the datasheet from leo´s site

    http://www.ctscorp.com/components/datasheets/288.pdf

If the shaft is too long..just cut it.
