Gauge placement on LCD monitors
Hi all
I plan to use an lcd monitor for my instrument panel with a face plate over the top with the holes cut out and bezels on top of that to give the panel some depth.
I may even buy some cheap magnifying glasses or clear plastic to insert into the bezels.
I also plan to place rotary encoders in the panel to adjust gauges via the
BU0836X.
That method do people use to get the position of the gauges on the lcd to match the postion of the holes on the face plate? Do you make the face plate first and then place that over the monitor you plan to use?
Regards
Rhys

Re: Gauge placement on LCD monitors
Definitely make the faceplate first.
then I use FsPanel Studio to move and size the gauges to fit under the panel.

Re: Gauge placement on LCD monitors
Agreed...
Faceplate first....
79mm holes for large guages and 56mm holes for small gauges.
Design your panel first on paper to make sure that everything fits.
Make sure you leave an additional inch of space around the perimeter of your panel so that you can mount your monitor as LCD panels have a chunky border unless you are mega rich and can afford seamless monitors!
Good luck pal...
