Good luck dude, many people are use Proj.Magenta at the moment or building their own gauges, simkits gauges come up every now and again, so just keep you eye out on ebay, on our classifieds section and of course GLB flight products....www.geremy.co.uk...

You may want to try out flight illusion gauges, in my view they are better than simkits gauges, also seagull systems are very good!

    Good Luck with your project!

    Hi Alex,
Please, could you explain why FI is better,
I have seen FI at the Lelystad Fair, but the instruments has the same movement of instruments.
Even worse the Attitude of FI is missing the pitchknob in the middle, also the simkit range does have the complete instrument-range incl radio starter pitchcontrol and the list goes on and on.
It goes without saying offcourse I`m a big simkits fan

    Re: Simkits wanted

    Please don`t be offended,
But if you state something like this ,you can expect a reaction like mine.
Especially if you have no experience and looking at your pit/website you don`t have with neither of the two.
It is easy to give an unfounded negative reaction, pro`s and cons must be based on own experience not what others are saying.

    Re: Simkits wanted

I am no way offended, I am hard to offend.

Just because I do not own Simkits or FL gauges, please do not jump to conclusions that I have not seen or built both simkits or FL gauges.

For your knowledge, I have actually built some of the simkits gauges as a kit with my closest friend who has the full set including the VORs (hence why I decided I wanted a Cessna sim, because of him). This same person actually sold his simkits gauges to buy flight illusion guages and actually ended up buying the collins nav and com radio too which can additionally be interfaced to the GSA-55 , and I fully understand why.

So please do not assume I have no experience if you do not know the facts first, you cant just look at my website to determine my experience with gauges.

    With Regards.

    Alex

EDIT: Please understand why I state 'in my view' in my postings, because this is my view, others have different view, but this was 'my view'. Feel free to add your view but dont jump to conclusions with my experience with gauges.

    Re: Simkits wanted

Granted , I also like the look of the Collins but ̀`m still going for the Simkits Bendix range if I can raise the money for now I`m using goflight .

I have the opposit experience I started myself with FI but find the instruments after 2 hours of flying during vfr/ifr and dead rekoning (is that spelled right?)in one flight very inaccurate.
Ending up miles from expected points,
Flown with real vfr scenery FS2004 and FSX the latter I only use and fly now
I have calculations cross-checked against real vfr/ifr flightplans from a friend who has a PPL and many hours under his belt and even he could`nt fly a calculated flight with FI instruments.

Flew the same routes over and over again in the same wheather-conditions but ending up at differend points.
I could fly if I had the GPS standby for checks and calibrations.
After I had some struggles with FI aftersales and as I read other websites I`m not alone in that, I have sold the instruments .
And purchased the Simkits range and up till now I had only a few wrong end points.

Also as stated on the Simkits site a small impression about the quality of the simkits instrument.

The Dutch Aerospace University has received the FNPT1 (JAA) Certification for its TRC472 trainer. The certification is similar to the FAA level 6 requirements.

I leave it with that, will not make any further comments about FI and Simkits, so back on track as they say
