    paint it black

    Hi,

I'm working on my 737 glare wing and was wondering what kind of black to use, matt or glossy. Furthermore, I have the impression looking at pictures of real flightdecks that the wing has not a smooth surface but has a kind of structure in it. Am I right, and how to achieve this? Any ideas would be welcome.

    Best regrads,

    JWS

I can't recall what an actual 737 glare is made of, but on my A340 I put a viny matt covering.

    Re: paint it black

There are alot of decent textured sprays and paints around now!

I recall my local DIY store selling a black 'leatherette' look spray!

Worth atleast looking at this option, as its a good idea if you dont want the hassle of covering something with leatherette / vinyl.

    Cheers,

    Alex

I agree with Alex, it is a pain to put on the vinyl and trying to make it stick, LOL. I used the spay on the bottom of my pedestal and side stick stands and it looks fantastic. I've got plenty of paint left over if you want to come get it

Thanks for the tips. I'll have a look at the "faux" technique as well. Am I correct that only the front part should be "leather" like, not the part where the warning annunciators are located?

    OK Matt,

but since you are coming to Lelystad also, it might be easier if you bring it with you.
