Re: Steve 737 Sept 09 / SAITEK Yoke

    Hello guys...

my first step into cockpit building was a boeing-stylish SAITEK yoke - take a look how i did it... Checklist is manufactured by Engravity and was bought at Aviation Megastore, Amsterdam. Checklist was fixed on the yoke using self-adhesive velcro tape...

    Cheers, Michael

    Hi Delvos-

had a look at your site, really interesting and like the way you did the integrated standby using fsexpand. I was wondering if you had a sioc script for you MCP/EFIS as i only have one for the MCP. Also Like the flaps Gauge- where is that from?

And- thanks so much for the compliments everyone- it really makes a difference when people like what your doing!

    Cheers

    Re: Steve 737 Sept 09

    Hi Steve...

i have a SIOC script for both OC EFIS and MCP. And, yesterday, i talked to OC; they provide me one CDU for the purpose of developing a driver module for the PMDG 737... No SIOC needed, no 69 keys definition and no assigning those keys to mouseclicks on the CDU panel...

Well, isfd solution using fsxpand is nice, indeed, but the gauge i had to use is the PFD gauge; i should write a message to Gert and tell him, that the 737 builders need the real one

The flaps gauge comes from cockpitsonic; i bought it as a package with gear lever/panel and break-out board, which is cockpitsonic's MIP interface...

I also like your work, i was just a little bit disappointed about the missing yoke checklist and decided to post my reply

    Greetings from EDDL,

Thanks Michael - if you could pm me the script that would be great.

A module for the opencockpits CDU would be fantastic. I have had one sitting at home for about 6months and was dreading programming mouse strokes for it!- So i'll be the first in line for a copy when you have one!

    Steve,
Aside from the fact that you havent setup the CDU yet...what do you think of the quality? I want to buy an OC CDU but havent pulled the trigger yet. It certainly is appealing at the price level. I also have other OC cards and am familiar with SIOC so dont think I would have any problem programming it. Just wondering about the fit and feel. I also understand that it is capable to add one's own backlighting but realize this may be harder than it seems.

Could you give your thoughts? Also, I have seen no really good pictures of the unit (top and back). It would be wonderful if you could shoot a couple and post them.

    Thank you,
    Scott

    Re: Steve 737 Sept 09

@Steve: i can send you the script, soic.ini keys part and my 737kbd.ini because you need all of them of course There are still some minor bugs, but it does its work very well Today or tomorrow evening i'll pm you the files..

@Scott: SIOC programming is quite nice of course, but you need 69(!) unused key combinations for the CDU and for most of these keys you have to create a mouse macro via FSUIPC; that's very very awful work

    Re: Steve 737 Sept 09

    Thanks guys

    Hmmm

    Decisions Decisions.

Just starting a 737 build. I gave up on building the Lear because of lack of passion. I have 2 EFIS and MCP on order from CP FLight, the "EL" series. Trying to order the ACE Yoke. I will build the mip myself from wood and aluminum. I hope to make most if not all panels on my cnc and possibly the throttle also (allthough I am keeping my eyes out for that new G-Throttle as an interim solution). My avionics have been purchased and I am already running and testing them on my existing pit. I chose Sim-Avionics. My interfaces are a mix of Open Cockpits, Hagstrom KE108, DA 2090s, and the venerable B0U836X.

So right now I just need to decide on CDU.....
