what gc software to use in comb with vri mcp combo??

hello all ,

i am very busy researching what glass cockpit software i should use for my
desktop mip i'm gonna build.
I would like to be able to run my main screen (3x 22" triplehead) full screen so i will use a second pc for the lcd panels in the mip. My question is what software i can use in combination with my vri mcp combo. I tested Project magenta, controlling it by keymapping , but in this way the displays on the mcp combo will not sync with the pm mcp.

i think im looking for a SDK sollution between the vri mcp combo and one of the available gc software packages. I m investigating it ,but i have no programming experiance and i have not found anyone writing a tool for the sdk capabilities from the mcp combo.

I hope someone allready has used the vri mcp combo in a setup with glass cockpit software and can help me out.

Or maybe there is a good tutorial to be found about programming with SDK between fsuipc and for example PM.

Hi Richard,

The Sim-Avionics suite natively supports the VRinsight MCP Combo.

The suite is great as well as their support. You can download the demo and actually test it with your MCP before buying it.

I am a user myself, although I have the CPFlight MCP, and I am absolutely big fan of this software.

Hi Willem,

you say "A", don't forget to say "B" as well.

When you buy a license at SA you get free updates during the first year. If you want to stay up to date after that year you must pay each year 49,- British pounds and that price is going up one of these days. And those updates are really necessary because there is still a whole bunch of problems...
I have a full license myself and have never flown 1 flight without trouble.
I have no problem with buying a license and later renewing that license but I might expect that, at the moment of purchase, the offered product is finished in such a way that it is satisfying, wich was not the case at the time of purchase (2008 ).
What I want to make clear is that one cannot demand a license renewall if the product, at the moment of purchase, is not really ready to be sold. So be carefull when giving advice...

btw i see you have a nice project going there yourself , very cool , and inspirating since i'm not gonna use manufactured panels.

Not sure where your heading with your remark that I have to say ´B´as well.

I was simply trying to help Richard with his search of a GC that supports his MCP Combo, which SA does.

I did not make any purchase or buy now recommendation in my response but suggested to download and try the demo, which is free of charge, so that he can test the software as exentsive as he likes and make a decision weather to purchase or not based on his own findings.

All commercial terms are clearly stated on the SA website including the maintenance fee and are no secret and I would even say it is hard to overlook them before you decide hitting the ´buy´button.

Feel free to eleborate if you believe I miss-interpreted your point.

Hello Richard,

as an owner of the VRinsight MCP combo and a full license of the SA suite I can tell you that the two components are meanwhile working quite good together.
I have connected the MCP to a different PC than the one where the FSX is running on. Only the MCP.exe must run on this PC, the VRi Software is not necessary. However, do not forget to configure the MCP ini file that it should use the MCP combo (it's just one parameter and described in the initially generated ini file).

PS: It is correct that there are still a number of open issues for the software, but on the other side one must say that the developer(s) is/are taking any hints, wishes and complains quite seriously.
