VRInsight CDU II Panel Review?
Hi all,
Just wondering. We all have our own opinions on the VRInsight CDU panel they first brought out however i'm interested in people who have given them a second chance an bought the CDU II panel.
What's it like?
I was wondering if they have done us proud and there is an improvement. It looks good from pictures and youtube videos and i was thinking to myself i dont know anyone whos bought this. It could be a cheaper option for people considering the CDU. I had the idea of using the screen and keys with a different faceplate made by me.
Anyway what are peoples thoughts on this - particularly those who own one. Just a question of interest realy.
Best Regards and i'll look forward to some interesting replies.

Just one comment; In the video you see a lot of "double touch" - not qood
when in a stressed situation. So they have to do something with how their
switching works. Could be both hardware and software.

From that video, it looks like a vast 100% improvement on the earlier version. What worries me though is some of the comments about lack of instructions and most being in Korean, i find this with a lot of hardware, great products but difficult to use initially due to rubbish manuals and support.

Re: VRInsight CDU II Panel Review?
Hi Gez!
The answer to your question is in your title: VRinsight
You know what I mean!
I know that this newer improved version looks much better than the first, and that it may just make the mark as 'passable' due to the more realistic array of buttons, but deep down its still very much a VRinsight machine, and looks wise too!
It may cost a fraction to those professional cdu's on the market, but the more expensive gear will always be cheaper in the long run. It IS worth you getting a decent branded cdu. VRinsight is very much a desktop bit of gear that does 'a bit' of the job and gives you headache for the rest!
From what I have seen form the previous VRinsight modules is total rubbish, I know 1 guy who has the MCP that also has the older version of the CDU and his honest opinion was; he wished he'd never bought it, he said he'd rather saved up and bought likewise; something a lot better!
Thats just 'MY' opinion on this before people get the wrong end of the stick!
(many do lol)
Gez...your a not a VRinsight guy
...Heres the Cessna CDU (LOL)
Enough said!
Cheers Mate

Re: VRInsight CDU II Panel Review?
Geremy:
I have found the CDU II less than satisfactory. Documentation is skimpy and leaves a lot to be desired - I still have not been able to successfully install the unit and I'm using a Dell Alienware unit with Windows 7 64 Bit - there is no real support for the unit and I would tell simmers to stay as far away from it as possible.
Regards, Stephen
