    My Cessna 182 Update'ish

    Hello My Fellow Builders!

Just thought I would upload the current state of my Cessna 182 cockpit,

Been busy leading up to June with loads of studying etc. for my exams, and finnaly got building again early this month.

Last update was back early last year sometime when I had just joined and set my heart on making a 'switch box?'.....what was I thinking! I didn't know nothing whatsoever about building, and I sure did ask some questions (Ian got the worst of them, poor man putting up with my direct attack on how to wire up the BU0836).

Well I just got this cool shiny black Cessna decal from ebay, and wanted to show you how good the decal looks, so I though that I may aswell just give an update to the 'current' state of my MIP.....

Couldn't be done without Ian sending me all the bits that I needed, so a massive thank you to Sir Ian himself!

Hopefully will have project finnished by xmas (money permitting...poor student lol)

    But still alot to do!

Ps.....It is possible to get Boeing Decals!

    Cheers,

    Alex

    Re: My Cessna 182 Update'ish

    Hi Anderson.....

Using Project Magenta (Demo) and FlightDeckSoft for now, until I have enough money to buy the full license.

But the engine instruments (the 4 cut outs left of MIP) will be dummy instruments, then I will convert them to working instruments using servo's when I buy the opencockpits servo card....

I would of liked to use project magenta for the whole of the MIP but I have a problem with the yoke, because there is no way that I can pass the aluminium tube for the yoke through the MIP if the monitor is in the way.....

Always open to suggestions on this problem though!

Sadly you can't drill a hole through the monitor for the yoke! LOL!

    Regards,

    Alex

    Re: My Cessna 182 Update'ish

Houston we have a problem!! hehehe

Looking at the project, it seems that will be difficult to put the yoke. Maybe if you used two monitors instead of one solved the problem.

Maybe one monitor with 7" or somenthing like this. In little monitor you put the 2 gauges.

believe that the best option would be to alter the project modifying the position of the gauges , or putting real gauges.

Excuse me, my english is not the best!! hehehe

    Re: My Cessna 182 Update'ish

I am interested in the idea of 2 screens, but moving the gauge positions will alter everything, so much so that I would maybe have to build the MIP again.

Eventually it looks like maybe one day I will have real gauges, but the MIP will have to be changed to accommodate the gauges....

As for now, I will display on a monitor the 8 pack instruments (6 Pack + VOR1 and 2) as shown on the diagram and sit this on top of the yoke hole.

The 2 guages below the 8 pack will probably be dummies or real instruments.

However, there is no reason why I can't display the engine 4 pack on a small 7" monitor.

    Cheers,

    Alex
