Hello

Here is a way to make a switch which can be electrically triggered.
Instead of a normal switch, it must be a circuit Breaker.

It's done this way:



The circuit breaker is a old model from Heinemann Electric Trenton, type BC10.

The panel is my first prototype made from material called Flexply.

Looks as if pressing the manual trip puts a short circuit across the power supply.

Do you get much smoke before the relay trips out?

It only smokes the first time

Thats is why you must have an external power supply for the circuit breaker and the relay. 100 Amp power suply is not necessary

You short circuit over the relay and the circuit breaker disconnect in a few mili secunds and the relay interrupts the signal to I / O card

At the test i use a 9v battery, the circuit breaker is 0.25 Amp

It will be used as magnetic release switch.

The MD-80 autothrottle and autopilot switch, on the flight guidens control panel, will be automatic reset, if you push the plane over it's limits, or push the trottle and autopilot release button.

Good idea! I've been searching where to buy the circuit breaker you mention but I can't find it. Any circuit breaker with a toggle switch will do, however, but the ones I find have rocker switches like these:
