    Any Programmers out there?

    Hi All,

Im new tothis forum, so hello fellow flightsimmers.

I have ben trying to figure out what is the best way to implement a cockpit system for some time now. All i seem to find is an endless supply of sdk's that i don't really understand, or a very large bill if you buy ready made products

I think we should get together and, figure out a simple way of communucating with FSX, and possibly FS9, and make it free to anyone

I am a pic programmer, so i can drive the external hardware. just need a little help with the pc side.

    anyone interested please contact me
    love
    Bob...

have you looked into Simconnect, FSbus, FSUICP, and FS2phidgets?
with these there is nothing that can't be done in a cockpit. and are cheap if not free!!

    Simconnect is part of FSX

As with most things simpit related, time, money and learning are all interchangeable but have a high usage curve when it comes to building. Don't be scared of picking up some programming or scripting knowledge, as it'll allow you to totally customize things to your preference instead of having someone elses implementation only do partially what you are wanting to achieve at a higher cost. I'd always prefer time and learning over money spending if at all possible. Afterall, simpit building is a lot about the journey, not the destination for most people. Turn-key options are not that rewarding as a hobby imho.

    Bob,

I have written a tutorial on how to write cockpit instruments that will communicate with FS via FSUIPC.

Have a look at the bottom of my software page:- http://homepage.ntlworld.com/david.a..._software.html

Should be enough here to set up your programming environment and to start writing.
