    Encoder for control panel instruments

    Hi all
I am builing an instrument panel with a face plate covering the LCD screen and I am looking for a rotarty encoder to attach to Leo Bodnars BU0836X to operate the Altimeter,HSI and heading indicator.

I have found this one which has a good cycle life and wondering if it would work on Leos BU0836X.

    Regards

    Rhys

    hi Rhys,
Almost any encoder seems to work with his interface.I have the Buo836 and a few types ive tried all worked fine.
Ive found with encoders you really have to try them.I only know of one i/f that fussy, its oc master card.

Re: Encoder for control panel instruments

    hello rhys....
i also have excellent results with encoders on the bu0836x.
i have used CTS288 from opencockpits,
    http://www.opencockpits.com/catalog/...ml?cPath=24_58
cheap encoders from sure electronics on ebay
    http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/Sure-E...__W0QQ_armrsZ1
and expensive ones from alps and elmac. i really can't tell the difference........they all work fine for me once setup and configured.
the BU0836X is not highly sensitive to input, so 'bounce' from cheap encoders doesn't seem to be a problem with it. in fact it is a very tolerant piece of input kit.
    hope that helped you out.........
have a great day and good luck
    regards ... ian
