Tragic. My thoughts to all the families. I thought it a little odd that the Transport minister of France is already starting to point fingers, saying this airline was "under surveillance" and "numerous faults" with that plane in particular.

    Nothing "odd" to that
There is a blacklist of Airlines which operate at substandards.
And there are surveillance bodies dealing with that.
Maintenance and operating procedures are the key to safety.
That is why Majors have very few mishaps.

One death is one too many!

Substandard should not be associated with aviation......

I'd hate to know what airlines are in the blacklist, I'm very grateful and proud that the British airlines have an excellent track record and history....

Unfortunately they are and, instead of pointing finger at the aircraft manufacturer,("an Airbus again") people should be aware that some Airlines do not do what they are supposed to do, and effectively consult these lists.
