    People these days.

    Hey everyone,
    I play in a band, I'm a guiarist.
Last night i went to my friends house so practice.
We decided to go to the local shop to get somthing to eat, whilst we were in the shop a gang of boy came out side and when we went out side they started to attack me and my friends, we did good at defending our selfs, but my friend had a bottle smashed on him.
I went to hospital with him, and got checked out myself as I took a hit to the head.
Says somthing when you cant go out for a sandwich without being attacked.

Reagrds to all, and be safe out there.

I probably should not say on a public forum that I'm a police officer, and the yob culture of today makes me wish I was a vigilante! Very sorry to hear what happened to you. These people should be disolved in acid or something. They contribute nothing to society.

    Re: People these days.

Where I live in Essex its just the same, I went to my local kebab shop to get me and my girlfriend a kebab (and not that late at night either) and got attacked by a gang of youths, I was out numbered but gave as much defence as I could, and just legged it home (with my kebab fortunately), I was quite deeply winded, but was OK the next day!

    .....all because I was hungry!

    Sad isn't it!

    Hope your OK dude!

    Re: People these days.

What the **** is happening in the United Kingdom.
Its one of the reasons i left the place 6 years ago. I love my country and im proud to be british but something needs to be done about it.
If its not yobs kicking someones head in just for thrills its some "pc" brigade saying there arn't enough playstations in the prisons.

I hope you and your mates recover soon jake and the yobs who did this pick on the wrong man one night. Maybe a recently retired SAS commando

    Angry Re: People these days.

That is awful Jake. I too hope you and your friends recover OK. Try not to let it shake you up too much either; get back on your horse and out into the world.

Luckily where I live it isn't that bad. Sure there are still occurrences here and there but on my estate I can walk at night wherever I want without worrying (which is good because I am rubbish in fights). But if you go to the other side of the town you might get some bother.

I also agree that the UK has taken a downturn in the last 10 years. It never used to be as bad as this (but im only 23 so my small reference might be biased!).

I blame the upbringing that these individuals received. Me and my friends came from good homes with loving, caring and hard working parents who would have severely disciplined us at the first hint of this behaviour. Their parents must just not care or are like that themselves. Problem is that this behaviour "breeds".

For example, there are people who I went to school with that messed around and threw away their education. They are now 23 and living on state benefit. They have no qualifications above a handful of mediocre GCSEs which makes them lousy for employment. They don't work, have no life prospects and this makes them depressed and angry at the world. To top that I know that at least 5 of the girls in my year that fall into this "category" have children (2 or more in some cases). Most single mums do OK, but is this any environment in which to bring up children? I know that they must love and care for their children like any human, but what kind of example are they setting, what kind of opportunities can they offer? Their children are likely to turn out similar, hence this behaviour "breeds".

I do consider myself lucky. Me and my 3 sisters got a cracking upbringing. So did my friends and we have all turned out OK, contributing to society, earning money and paying tax to keep the system going.

I just hope it starts to go the other way soon, otherwise it might reach a tipping point (if it hasn't already done so).

In other ways they do come in handy when I want my car washed.

    Tom.

Pffff. What can i say, these things are very very unfortunate and these thugs need to be punished.

Please take care of yourself and wish you and your freinds recover quickly from this.

    Re: People these days.

You know guys it is the do gooders. When you see or hear a do gooder run for miles cos they ain't doing anybody any good. Just look at 2days "Mail on Sunday" (UK only) and read the article about the delinquent and his crimes and how his mother (no father in sight) tries to defend him. Now, the do gooders will give him a play station probably and blame US for his misdemeamors. The day they outlawed proper coporal punishment was the beginning of the end for civilisation in our country.
Where are the parents of these guys? Do they ask them where they have been or what they've been doing? Do they care?
Hopefully some day they will meet their match.

People suck! I’m glad that you’re ok. I live in Philadelphia, PA and I have been mugged twice and stabbed with a knife, now I carry a gun (legally) and I swear to god the next A-hole to mess with me is going to get two thru the head.
