Vertical Tail Stabilizor issues on some Airbus aircraft

Subject: Air France Accident: Smoking Gun Found

Interesting article. As pointed out in the article itself, it's easy to get bogged down in the Airbus vs. Boeing debate. Please dont use this article for that :0)

Re: Vertical Tail Stabilizor issues on some Airbus aircraft

Thanks Eric, When the tail fin is mentioned the American Airlines incident a few years back does spring to mind when the pilot was not educated about in fact overstressing the rudder so much it could tear off.

Another memorable incident was the alaska flight where there were problems with the hydraulics which resulted in catastophic consequences.

    Thanks regards,
