    Here's (another) crazy thought!

Ever thought about owning a real brand new 737 NG or Airbus

    How?

If MyCockpit.org ever reaches 40,000,000 members and they all paid an optional $2 / 1 / 1 EURO joining fee then logically you would have a share in your name. And logically you would own it (part of it).

Ok...you may only own 1 rivet, but at least it's your rivet from YOUR jet.

I'm really surprised that there are no websites doing such a crazy thing, ok, maybe not a jet, but certainly, 8000 people could pay a share and still own a GA aircraft.......

4000 people could pay 2, or....
    2000 people pay 4,
    1000 people pay 8,
    500 people pay 16,
    250 people pay 32
    125 people pay 64
    63 people pay 128
    31 people pay 256

What a thought ha? (only someone like me would think this I know!)

OK....who wants to be pilot? lol

    alex....
redo your calculations. the only thing you are going to get for 8000 quid is a 'kite'.
however, put your price up 50% and that will cover my training and checkrides ))

    Re: Here's (another) crazy thought!

not to mention 8000 people sharing one aircraft...356 days a year....that would give me an oppurtunity to fly once a......uhm....nevermind....

Actually sharing an aircraft is quite common. There are plenty of clubs here where you can buy a share in a diamond for around 15.000 euros.

    Re: Here's (another) crazy thought!

I'll do the maths for stef.

    Seconds in a year = 31 556 926
    People = 8000

Means each member gets 65 seconds in the aircraft.. it takes more than that to get the door open

And you get longer glimpses on the flightdeck when you go on holiday.

anyway the idea could be plausible with a secondhand non airworthy aircraft with less members but a higher sum .. but then that's why we have our own sim cockpits isn't it?

You realy should write to Mythbusters or brainiac with some of these ideas LOL

Plus you would have to pay Hangar fees at the airport where you keep it, and pay for Engineering...
