    744 MIP Template

I am going to attempt to make up my MIP now that Gary (from this forum) has generously given me his old FDS Nova Panels. 3mm MFD will do the trick but have not a clue reference size, where to cut out the display's etc.

    Are there templates available anywhere?

    Thanks in advance. Keith.

    Keith.

Just be careful using 3mm MDF for the MIP support.
I did that and was a bit unhappy with it. When I attached 2 lcd monitors behind it it bowed a bit.
I changed to 6mm and found it much better.
Suppose it will depend on how you intend to mount the mip to the supporting structure.

    cheers

    Paul

another thing I meant to mention.
I'm building a 737NG capt side only and I had no template either.
What I did was tape a few sheets of large cardboard together and then using photo and other sources on the web position the FDS panals where I thought they should go.
This then gave me an idea of how much space I had left in which to position the monitors. I then drew everything onto the cardboard and cut out all the holes that would be needed. I then used that as a template to cut the MDF.
Little bit fiddly but it did the job.

Thanks Paul for your advice, I will look into that although I intend to just lean the MIP to the monitors as I have them in a brackets already. Thanks Martin for the link, appreciated.

For some reason I am unable to open those .gif images. I can't even paste them into paint. I wonder why? Although Gary sent me the 744 MIP dimensions so I should be good for now.

    I had the same problem.

I then unzipped them to their own folder and Paint was able to open them.
