    Airbus C of A completed.

Well at last I have completed the major upgrade on the Airbus. After wasting over 2 years trying to get simboards to work, I pulled them all out and replaced them with the CPflight FCU and Leo Bodnars BU0836X Controller plus another FDS-SYS card from Peter Cos.
The overhead is controlled with a Sys card also.
Let me say, that buying the correct gear can save a lot of headaches and wasted time.
I have to also say at this stage with only a couple of days testing, that the results are amazingly good. It is now a pleasure to fly !
Especially the new FCU unit is something to behold, as Matt will surely agree with. You would almost have to say it is better than the real one in an Airbus !
Also the BU0836X is another great piece of hardware to use.The other piece of harware/software I use is IOCards from Opencockpits to run the radios and the trim wheel.
So at his stage I seem to have a 100 percent workable Sim at last. Hoping these facts will help others to choose the right gear for their simulators.
    Regards..................Brian W.

Good news Brian and thanks for the update.

Although my sim is in pieces, I'm replacing parts and panels, and as you know a complete new overhead.... Phil744 is finishing it up as we speak

I've got a new, actual A340 throttle from a FTD on the way (will be here Monday).

Anyway Brian, your information is good information that will definitely help me and other builders as well. Oh, and we NEVER finish building our sim

    Thanks again,
    Matt Olieman

Hi Brian, what problems did you have with Simboards?
I have my overhead unning on them for the last 3 years perfectly...
Is it an FS interface issue or the boards themselves?

Gooday Matt, basically the main problem was running encoders and pots. You should not have any problems with the overhead as I suspect you are just running switches and leds. They handle that ok. Once you go into the other boards with pots and encoders etc, then a different ball game . So I think with your setup you should be fine. Hope this helps.
