Beacon Tower Gone
Dree,
I know you're already aware of this, but the old beacon tower is no more. It was removed to make room for the new control tower.

Dree,
As of two days ago there was about 15 feet of structure above the ground level. It's being constructed mainly of bolted-together pre-cast concrete slabs and gives the impression of being a very substantial building, which is not a bad idea in hurricane country.
The steel frame for the tower cab stucture is assembled and sitting on the ground ready to be placed in one piece when the rest of the structure is ready to receive it. It has the classic outward-slanted facets where the glass panels will go eventually.
I hope to get some more photos in a day or two, but they won't be much use for the upgrade yet. I'm sure some fancy outer siding panels will be added at the end to make it look less like a concrete blockhouse.
Will keep you posted and will send photos when I have some more.

No it will not be for the update but I’m just very very curious just how the building goes, so I'm looking forward to the pictures

PS, Monday I’m off to Norway again but I can reach all mail and forums.
