MD-80 Cockpit measures

I'm in the early stages for building a MD-80 cockpit, so any help is appreciated.

Is there anybody there please, can give me the MD-80 Cockpit measures.
Or maybe a link.

If you have link to other MD-80 fligtsim cockpits, please teel me.

Are you still pursuing this project?

I am presently in the early stages myself, although I have seats (confirmed) and a throttle quadrant (hopefully, although guaranteed delay in shipment), as well as potentially a few panels. Additionally, I've got information on DC-9-51 series that I'm going to be comparing to the MD-82 project that I'm working on.

The project is still very early, but I'd be willing to obviously assist in sharing of information and helping to provide some of the resources that I've gathered along my studies as well.

I know this is an old post....but figured I'd throw my name out in case there are others looking to research and wanting to go back and forth on information as well.

And velkomme to the world of MD80

Yes, our projekt is still in progres, and we (3 Danish FS pilots) are still in the early stage of making our cockpit.
In the near future we will have access to a real cockpit from Danish Air Transport.

I also purchased a throttle quadrant, which is not yet delivered


I think it's super we get together on this project and we all help each other.
We have created a home page where everything about the project will be published. You are most welcome to register on our website, here you can download my beta version of the engine, and information panel to the Gauges Composer.

Regarding miscellaneous cockpit / panel measurements, then I think it will have to wait a little time.
There are many incredibly time-consuming sub-projects which must also be created.


But what panels have you bought, and is it the glass cockpit.

I actually decided to do the MD-82 with analog gauges, although it has the option to do partial glass (it is from an American Airlines aircraft). Which, whether for good or bad, has even less consistency than the usual airline...heh

The TQ is probably going to be delayed as the seller recently entered the hospital. I've also obtained a number of things on the DC-9-51, which can be crosschecked to provide information. Some of it will work, and this one also happened to provide a pull out panel what I think is actually a 1:1 representation of the DC-9-30/50 series of overhead announciators...but the MD-80s would be the same SIZE, although the warning lights would be different.

Furthermore, I assist with the multimedia of the FSX Blue Angels Demonstration Team....and one of the guys happens to be an airline mechanic that works for a US company, and has had both extensive knowledge and extensive EXPERIENCE in dealing with the MD-80 series (81-82, and a bit now with the 88s IIRC). And he is willing to offer his help with me on this.

When I say "just started", the beginning of purchase making has been within the last week, but parts should start rolling in soon. (I've been researching it for a while as well).

I've been in touch with FlightIllusion for the gauges down the road, although I'm interested in setting up an initial computer screen to allow it to become FUNCTIONAL, and then as funding permits to begin adding in the analog components as able.

I'll post more. I need to get ready for work, and then once I'm there I should have some time to get additional information onto the forums there for you.

Hello again

You've bought some parts, and you know where and what the various scrap dealers have in stock.

Do you know whether it is possible to provide a complete overhead panel and complete announciator panel fairly quickly and at the price for thise parts.
It is because that I might have an opportunity to get some parts transported back to Denmark for free.

Overheads are less easily found by surplus. Most I've found are a few odds and ends, so if you can get them transported, grab them up.

If possible, if you're willing to send measurements on some of this as well, or keep an eye open for a second set....I'd appreciate it as well.
