Generic Multi engine GA simpit from Sweden

Hello, just wanted to join and present my first attemt at a simpit. In lack of a pilotjob I desided to build a simple IFR trainingdevice for selfpractise.
I intend to network 3 computers so I can have a instructorstation on one and the two others for instruments and a large view forward.
Tha platform will be FS2004 because I find it to deliver satisfying graphics with mid range computers. The instruments are presented on two 22" LCD screens and there will be a cover with round holes for the instruments.

The controls are somewhat modified Saitek off the shelf gear.
The simpit is built of MDF. The nice seats are from a BMW 535, very confortable.

    Best regards

    Johannes

Good job! That would be a good setup with G1000 displays.

    Yoke question?

I got a question on how I have extended the saitek yoke tube. I have made two photos on the connectingpiece for those of you intrested. The extension is quite simple but there is still the little matter of extending about 30 cables inside the tube. So you get a lot of soldering.

    Size

I post a simple plan of the measurements of the panel. It is measured from a Piper Seneca and alterd to make my equipment fit properly.

    Todays progress

I finished the top of the sim today, it is sheeted with 0.5mm pre painted aluminium. This was very timeconsuming. A lot of trying and tweeking and of course many holes to drill. It may be my lack of skills with aluminium sheets but it feels like it took forever. However the result was quite satisfying.

    Slowly comming together

This kind of projetcs would go much faster of one did not put things together now and then to see how it will look like when it´s finished. However it might give just the kind if inspiration that makes you continue building.....
