But if there are no controllers in the part of the world you're flying to you're on your own. Radar Contact has worldwide coverage and compared to what you spend on hardware is a bargain!

There's no timescale to the v5 release. Quality not timetable is John and Doug's motto.

    radar contact

well i have been doing some research and it looks like that radar contact is still the best out there as far as a good solid atc program to have.

i to have flown on line and like the post said there are days that you may have full atc , and there are days when you are out there alone.

but it is still great to be able to go on line and hear real voices.

so from what i have researched so far i will just hold on to R. contact.

and yes there is a version 5 on the horizon, thats the hub bub im hearing.

    thanks Gentleman...........Robert

You're hearing correctly. Otherwise I'm not sure what I've been testing for the last year or so.

    Robert,
Just a lil suggestion of something I do is I go online and open my Vroute find where the ATC online is located then look at how long they have been online, then find another controller within reasonable flying route from 1st and try to coordinate flights that way, at least your guranteed ATC at takeoff. This is just a suggestion. Radar Contact is pretty good but for me has way too many issues that can completely mess up an entire flight. Additionally I hate voices that sound like a computer made them. JMO

I have to agree with Tim. I don't really want to interact with an unpredictable computer program that sounds like HAL.

I haven't flown online in awhile due to construction of the sim, but when I do, I'm fortunate that the times I do most of my flying from my location in the US, most all of Europe is lit up with controllers.

Early afternoon here, early evening in Europe. I haven't flown in the States for years.

How you feel about the voices is a personal one and I wouldn't argue with that but can you tell me what you feel is unpredictable about Radar Contact?
