    Sim-Avionics?

Has anyone worked with the Sim-Avionics Suite before? I am trying to decide on which avionics suite to go with for my 737 cockpit.

The choices I guess are the following:

    -Project Magenta
    -Flight Deck Software
    -Sim Avionics

Which one you think is the best, taking into account compatibility with hardware available and most importantly, price and bang-for-the-buck.

    Thanks for any help...

    Hi

It may be difficult to get an objective answer, as I doubt that anyone has all three software suites! I have the Sim-Avionics and my feedback is:-

    Pro

Very good manual, easy to set up and network. Good I/O software access and many aspects are easily reconfigurable through config files. It is worth reading their manual to compare against other offerings. Good frame rates. Generally, quick support response. Fully functional demo.

    Cons

777 based and full 737 functionality not there yet, though improving at each software update. Currently, the significant omissions are MCP and FMC which are 777, not 737, though I believe the 737 MCP is due soon.

I went this route as I was not prepared to pay for PM software. Also, I was willing to trust and wait for the outstanding 737 functionality following many email exchanges with Sim-Avionics.

Padraig has not destroyed my trust in fellow man!

    Regards

    David

    Sim Avionics

    hello captain.......
i also have been 'playing' with this package, although i haven't put my hand in my pocket yet. i am evaluating programming for my upgrade because my next step forward is to seperate the aircraft and what goes on inside. i have to agree with david re: manual and support from sim-avionics. the setup is a breeze, but being a 737 builder, i also am waiting for the 737 MCP and FMC so i can use existing hardware.
but , not wanting to pay for the 'upgrade', i'll wait until there is more 737 compatibility before parting with the cash.
david again has mentioned that they are getting closer to the mark with each release. so hopefully very soon they will have it beat.
on the performance front, it works very well. i have actually had it running on several computers doing my 'tests' and yes i am pleased with it (even if i have to restart it all the time). for my money, i think this is the package i will go with.
    hope that helps you out....
    regards from wales.... ian

Yes, I have also been using the demo mode and it seems like a VERY good viable option besides PM of course. The problem with PM is that I think the pricing is ludicrous. That is just my personal opinion, and I am not trying to flame them or anything, but I just think that spending $1,200 USD on the avionics package alone is an outrage.

Hopefully, Sim-Avionics will release their 737 version of the MCP and other suites very soon. Once they do this, I will spend my hard earned money on it.

    Hi HondaCop.

You might want to check out Sim Avionics support forum because they have just announced what will be in there next update.

I have flown their 777 test sim many times now and the software is beyond top notch! I would fully recommend it.

Indeed, the latest update list is very encouraging, with support for the GoFlight MCP Pro and EFIS for those of us who have them already and are too poor/miserly to spend more money on some of the more professional MCP/EFIS offerings.

And this was in response to only 3 or 4 requests on their forum, which shows a ready willingness to listen to what customers and potential customers want. Most impressive.

A developer to watch indeed! I asked on 9th March about including the cut down standby PF display - IFSD. Now I see that it is included in the next update.

As you say, very customer focused and encouraging.

    I recommend you the Sim-Avionics.
I play with this sofware many months now (777 version) and i am very very happy.
Check their forum to look for the new release about some new adds for the 737.

Also the support is great . The important thing is that they listen the customers.

    These guys loves the reality.
