Mycockpit.org Hello from west Tx. USA

I really like your place here. Looks like I can learn a lot from you guys. I'm kind of new to all of this sim stuff. I use to fly the real thing before I got hurt. I would like to start flying again now that they have the new sport license. It's a lot easier to get past the medical, if you can drive a car safely, you're good to go.

    Welcome to MyCockpit.

Do you have any building plans for a sim yet?

    Answer to your question.

Not yet, I'm into general aviation type aircraft. I would like to build a sport category airplane from plans, or a kit. Sim flying is fun, but it's nothing compared to the real thing. I'm sure you agree with me, right?
But simming is fun and I've just started getting into it and I figure it will be good practice as well as fun. I haven't got to fly on line yet either. I'm trying to upgrade my computer so it can handle the new sims, and what ever I add to them. I hope to make some friends along the way too.

The real flying I've done was rather tame. Basically just using a Piper Cherokee and a Cessna Skyhawk to bore holes in the sky. Then I had kids. Haven't flown for some time.

Simming is safer but not limited to tame.

I fell in love with airplanes when I was about four years old. My uncle owned an old Erco Aircoup and I thought it was the greatest airplane in the world. When I was ten, I hung out at the local airport and washed and waxed airplanes for rides, and joined the CAP, and learned to fly in their aircraft. T-34, L-16 and a Piper Tripacer. I soloed before I learned to drive a car. I rode my bicycle to and from the airport...about 5 miles one way, but I didn't care at all. So, I was lucky in getting to fly a lot of different kinds of aircraft at an early age. It was pretty cheap to fly too, at that time, not like today. This is the reason I'd like to find a way to build my own airplane, it's probably the only way I can ever fly for real again. Simming just makes the fever worse. Kind of like going to a cathouse and just looking.
