    737 Overhead panel question

I thought for a temporary solution for the overhead panel, I would buy a touchscreen monitor and display the overhead panel on there but I got to thinking. Say I wanted to turn on the APU or turn it off. Would it be the same as mouse clicking? Because there are certain areas of the switch that you have to mouse click on to either turn on or shut off a switch.

It is not a new idea, and it is a good one.
Whatever a mouse can do, a touch can do.

When and if I ever resume building my simulator, I fully intend on using a large touch screen monitor, around 42" for the overhead. Besides the fact that even a large touch screen is less expensive overall than a full hardware panel, it is a heck of a lot less work than a full hardware overhead. You just plug it in and you are done basically.

And now, with Jonathan's software that adds sounds when you flick a switch, a touch screen can be a very tempting solution (Michael rolls his eyes if he reads this ). And a BIG advantage as far as I am concerned is the fact that at various phases in the flight, you can use the same display for PM Instructor, or Quickmap or whatever. I know that you can't do that in a real plane and that purists would never dream of doing that, but it fits my purpose and ultimately, that's the only important thing.

    Maurice,

What I'd like to know is; where can you get a 42" TouchScreen Monitor? Are they selling in the market? If so where?
